Well today I get to start stage 2....full liquids....enjoyed my hot protein cocoa this am with skim milk...yummo

I had a pretty eneventful surgery last Thursday the 30th.  Was at the hospital by 11:30.....doc only had me and 2 other surgeries...I was the last one...never got into the or till after 5...he was behind...so i sat in pre-op from noon till 5..poor hubby was so bored..lol  When doc went in repaired a hernia (is that normal)  they said it was at the site of my port when I had the band 3 yrs ago.

This past weekend was kinda hard....fighting head hunger pretty bad....plus with a fam of a hubby and 4 kiddos under 12 it is hard not to be around food.  I have been trying to help as much as I can with dinner and then go to the bedroom when they eat.  My oldest has been fixing lunch and breakfast for everyone so that helps.

Off all pain meds as of yesterday and actually sleeping on the couch....having a hard time falling asleep...not sure where that is coming from...too many thoughs running thru my mind i guess.

Can't wait for mushies next Wednesday but till then I will keep taking one day at a time!!

Thanks all!!

Nicole,

That is great news to hear that things went well! The beginning is tough but it DOES get better and when you start to see results it will be all worth it!!

Good luck to you...

That tired feeling is your body telling you that it needs a lot of rest to heal. Glad you are doing well and hope that each day is better than the day before!

Congrats on your surgery and happy to hear it all went well. Sorry to hear you're fighting head hunger already - for the first few weeks after surgery the last thing I wanted was food, but I didn't have all those people to deal with either. Just keep following your surgeon and nutritionists plan and when the weight starts falling off you'll forget all about that HH for a little while.

You've just been through major surgery - that could be affecting your sleep right now, along with the fact that your eating (or NON eating, as the case may be) could be affecting your body - as well as your body releasing all sorts of weird hormones following surgery.

Stick to your plan - sip lots of water - take short walks - and let your body heal.

Oh - and welcome to the Loser's Bench!!

Hi, congrats!  I am 4 weeks post op with DS and wanted to let you know the time flies!  I also have 4 kids (14,9,8,10m) and I'm so used to making them dinner and not eating it.  Around the 2nd or 3rd week the mental hunger increased from smelling the yummy food but you just deal with it plus i found out recently it doesn't taste as good as it smells.  I am finding it hard to find the energy to keep up with them. I've lost 34 lbs so far but I am still as lazy as before I lost it,  I haven't gotten that burst of energy yet.  I got myself this far saying "one day at a time" too. Good luck to you
